Books bought today, along with the places at which I bought them and the general pricing totals:
A Long Way Down (Nick Hornby) and Dress Your Family in Corduroy and Denim (David Sedaris), from the UNCC campus bookstore, both brand-new, hardcover, and on sale for less than 7 dollars each.
Dandelion Wine (Ray Bradbury), Naked (David Sedaris), Of Love and Other Demons (Gabriel Garcia Marquez),and The Life of Pi (Yann Martel), from the used bookstore in my town about which I’ve talked on here before, all used and softcover, for a total of 13 dollars and some change.
The Master Builders: Le Corbusier, Mies Van Der Rohe, Frank Lloyd Wright (Peter Blake), Towards New Architecture (Le Corbusier), Cradle to Cradle (William McDonnough), and Delirious New York: A Retroactive Manifesto for Manhattan (Rem Koolhaas), from Amazon.com, all new and softcover, for a total of 68 dollars and some change.
The only bad thing is that I’m past running out of space on my bookshelf and I am beginning to have to take the lesser-importance things like magazines off the shelf and store them in the closet.
When will I get a chance to read those books? Never probably.
